OCFS 358 Modified Competition Notice

On a trial bases OCFS, starting 04/26/08 Will allow 358 modified's, running with big block modified's the right to run their DIRT weight in big block modified races, excluding series races. This means the following: 358 full spec 2350 lbs , 358 spec head only 2400 lbs, 358 open motor will be lowered to 2500 lbs, same as big block modified, all 358 cars must follow 358 rules to a tee, with the exception of weight. This will be only on nights that the 358's are not on the racing schedule, our intention is to allow 358 drivers to acquire more seat time.In addition, coming very soon, a date will be released for OCFS very first midweek test and tune night. This will be a 3 hour session, fee will be the same as our pre season open practice, $25.00 , all OCFS divisions' welcome.

In the interest of improved competition, for drivers and fans alike, OCFS has decided to make changes to the handicapping system for 2008. Handicapping will still be based on the last three weeks, but money points will no longer be used for the Modified, 358 and Sportsman divisions. Racing Group and DIRT MotorSports
recently signed a deal to lease
OCFS for the 2008 season. DIRT
officials are hopeful a long-term
deal -- perhaps in the length
of 5-8 years -- can be signed
with Fairgrounds owner Michael
