Port Royal Reschedules, Thursday Session Shines

PORT ROYAL, PA – On Thursday night, March 9, approximately 30 race cars assembled at Port Royal Speedway, engaging in a three-hour practice session from 6 to 9 pm.

The divisions present encompassed 410 sprints, 305 sprints, super late models, econo late models, xtreme stocks, and four cylinder pure stocks.

Notwithstanding the successful practice on Thursday night, the officials of Port Royal have been compelled to declare the cancellation of the scheduled season opener that was due to take place in two days, on Saturday, March 11.

A wintry forecast indicating snow within the next 36 hours and a maximum temperature of only 30 degrees on Saturday have left the oval with no alternative but to call off the planned opener.

Currently, the focus has shifted to a scheduled opener on Saturday, March 18 at 5 pm. At that time, 410 sprints and super late models are once again slated for action, with the sprints competing for a $3,500 win and the late models vying for a $2,000 win.
