Spraker’s Team Visit to Albany-Saratoga in 2017

MALTA, NY – As the green flag waves to signal the start of the 2017 racing season in April, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway is set to witness the highly anticipated return of a beloved car owner along with his two teams. Jake Spraker from Gloversville is all geared up to bring both his DIRTcar Modified and Sportsman teams to the renowned Great Race Place in 2017.

“We are excitedly heading to Malta with both of our teams,” Spraker enthusiastically stated.

This seasoned car owner will have the fan-favorite drivers Ronnie Johnson (DIRTcar Modified) and Rocky Warner (Sportsman) at the helm of his Jake Spraker Used Cars and Trucks machines.

“Ronnie (Johnson) will be piloting last year’s Teo car that we raced at Fonda,” Spraker confirmed. “Rocky (Warner) will be driving a Troyer.”

Johnson, who has been a regular presence at Albany-Saratoga throughout most of his career, has consistently achieved an impressive fifth-place finish in the final point standings for each of the past four seasons. Last season, he made his mark by visiting victory lane on two occasions, including the thrilling season finale 358 Modified special event.

Warner makes his comeback to the Malta oval after a season-long absence. In 2015, Warner finished a close second behind the track champion Derrick McGrew. The Johnstown driver had an outstanding season, visiting victory lane four times in points-paying races while at the wheel of the Spraker vehicle, only to narrowly miss out by a mere four points in the final standings.

The Albany-Saratoga Speedway is renowned for its fiercely competitive nature, a fact that Spraker is acutely aware of. Nevertheless, he holds high hopes and expectations for his teams.

“It is undoubtedly tough in the (DIRTcar) Modified and Sportsman divisions at Malta,” Spraker remarked. “We are placing a significant emphasis on giving our absolute best. We have a burning desire to win and fully expect to claim victories; our ultimate goal is to win the championships.”
